The First Triad 1-2-3: This is a composition bound together by a great circle, centre of a nebulous whirl, sowing the seeds of intelligence and wisdom throughout existence. A human dust is implanted in the cosmos, with a woman in blue rising to accompany the Creator in his work, a woman who existed before time was ... the crescent moon is at her feet, one of which crushes the serpent, symbol of all the forces of evil. Adam stands close to the tree. Eve plucks the forbidden fruit amidst cascades of light. Abel bears the lamb and Cain a pile of fruit; then Cain crushes the head of his brother while Adam tries vainly to intervene. Time is represented by a gathering of circles. Birth of Venus, of Love. The lower band with a nebulous cloud on fire couples, groups, motherhood, labour, and wheat as the nourishing gift of the sun. The Second Triad 4-5-6: Periods of history: Mesopotamia , the Hanging Gardens , the spiriting away of Europa. Adonis killed by the wild boar, before him Astarte, the Seven Wonders of the World ... eight when one includes Heliopolis-Baalbek. The great orators and the Faculty of Laws of Beirut. Greeks, Romans, and the school of Athens . The sun of knowledge shines from above the canvas. Byblos with its port and its vessels Cadmus and the alphabet. The Bay of Jounieh and the discovery of purple fishermen, the harvest, and a dance. The Third Triad 7-8-9: Time: The Signs of the Zodiac, the seasons, the Milky Way, a circle of humans, women who fill the cosmos. Day and Night, Ur of the Chaldees, Abraham and his tribe, Lot and his daughters, Sodom and Gomorrha. A great upper circle unites the three canvases, which is however divided into twelve parts, the twelve Signs of the Zodiac. Three interlaced lateral oval forms pass by the centre of the eighth canvas, which has on the right the Prophets and Kings. >> Third
