J'ai decouvert votre peinture l'annee derniere quand j'etais a Broumana pour rendre visite a ma famille: j'ai vu le tableau des drapeaux lors de la revolution du 14 mars qui se trouve dans le bureau de mon oncle, Camille Karam. Je suis tombe amoureux a l'instant meme. Depuis lors, je reve de ce tableau. Alors, mon pere vient de retourner ici du Liban, ou il vous a rencontre, et il m'a offert une tres tres belle copie de ce meme tableau, numero 19 sur 100, que vous avez meme signe pour moi! Les mots me manquent pour vous exprimer mon etat de bonheur complet en voyant ca! Je vais le faire encadrer et il aura une place d'honneur dans le salon chez moi, et j'en parlerai a tous mes amis (ici a New York) qui le verront. J'ai aussi eu l'occasion de decouvrir un peu davantage vos autres tableaux, et vous me voyez emerveille, ebloui devant votre art qui me touche profondement.
Je voulais simplement vous dire combien je suis heureux et fier de pouvoir regarder votre peinture tous les jours ici chez moi.

Salaam alaikum, Mr Matar,

I am sorry it has taken me so long to email you and inform you that I received the painting print in less than 2 weeks from the time I placed the order! I am very happy with it -- the quality is so good, everyone I show the canvas to, has to touch it to make sure it really is a print rather than the actual painting!

I would have emailed sooner, but I had not yet picked up the package from my parents' house, and I wanted to wait and see it with my eyes before I wrote to you about it. And then of course, it was the Eid al Adha holiday plus Christmas holiday plus western New Year, and I had been feeling sick and so delayed my trip to visit my parents (and pick up the package), and so it is only now that I can reply to you.

Firstly, let me say, I was very pleased with the packaging -- it arrived in perfect condition. I also was very excited to see the stamps on the package -- stamps about Rafiq Hariri! My father immediately laid claim to those stamps, as he believes those will gain value as historical items in a few years from now.

I really love the painting of the olive tree. It is lovely in itself, and then the olive tree image reminds me of stories my father tells to me about the olive orchard he and his father had planted on their land in Palestine - 200 trees - and then I remember the taste of the olive oil made from the olives of those trees. I also experience some sadness when I think those trees have been gone for some years now -- the orchard wasn't properly cared for by our relatives, so the trees died and then the zionists stole the land, and probably they have built kibbutz or high-rise apartment buildings on that land by now. So I find it very symbolic, that the painting I ordered is titled "Olive tree in tempest".

My next step will be to find a frame that will fit the canvas, and after that, hang it on the wall for all to see and admire! You can be sure I will tell everyone who admires it, where I bought it from, and the name of the artist, in hopes they will be inspired to visit your website and make purchases.

Dear Mr. Matar,
My family and I wish to thank you again for the joy (and sometimes tears) that your poems and paintings give us. When we look at your painting we seem to be transported to a spiritual plane, so beautiful and so serene, so unending.
If every Lebanese and every person in the rest of the world looked and contemplated on your paintings, I think they would feel peace and receive the message of truth - that we all come from Our One Father in Heaven, and therefore, we must live in harmony.
